StreetSafe

Virtual Reality
Project Overview
Many individuals, particularly women, often feel unsafe during nighttime. Unfortunately, many men might find it difficult to truly comprehend this experience or understand how their actions could be perceived as threatening. To address this issue, I've developed a Virtual Reality experience that allows men to step into the shoes of those who encounter street intimidation. This immersive experience aims to cultivate empathy and raise awareness by offering a firsthand encounter with these situations.
Details
I made this project for my study and it was my second time working with Virtual Reality. I made it with Unity and Mixamo. I try to design concepts that could make an impact and help people.
In the Virtual Reality experience you are sitting at a bus stop at night, at this location you experience different situations that make being alone at night uncomfortable and dangerous. The events were selected via surveys to represent many womens experiences.
